The United Church of Canada is launching an Extreme Hunger Appeal as the humanitarian crisis is reaching a scale the world has not seen before in Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, and Yemen. There is also extreme hunger, malnutrition, and starvation in Kenya. All donations raised for this appeal will go to our
long-term Mission & Service partners, including ACT Alliance, which is saving lives in the region.  Note that the federal government is matching donations made by June 30, 2017.Ways to give to this appeal:

The annual Kilbride United Church picnic is today, noon at the home of Maureen and George Trenkler on 6690 McNiven Road. Please bring salads and desserts, barbecued hotdogs and hamburgers will be supplied. Please bring along lawn chairs and your bathing suit! Hope to see you there.

Halton Region – Community Feedback. We want your feedback on Community safety & well-being in Halton. Please join us at a community consultation session to help shape community safety and well-being priorities in Halton and provide input on Halton’s draft Community Safety and Well-Being Plan. Community Safety & Well-Being in Halton: A Plan for Collaboration and Action Halton Region and the Halton Regional Police Service have partnered to develop a Community Safety and Well-Being Plan for Halton. The Plan provides a made-in Halton approach to strengthen how we collaborate with community partners to support vulnerable populations and build safe and healthy communities. The Plan was recently endorsed by Halton Regional Council and the Halton Regional Police Services Board as a draft for public consultation and we would like your feedback.
