On Sunday November 19 there will be a presentation on a trip to Kenya.

A benevolent fund has been set up for the migrant worker who lost both legs in a farming accident earlier this year. Donations can be made to Kilbride United Church this fund; please note the details on your cheque or in your offering envelope.

Rev. Lorna will be leading a four week Advent Study at Carlisle to which anyone interested is invited. It will run Thursday afternoons at 3:00pm on the 23rd and 30th of November and the 7th and 14th of December.  No book purchase necessary.  We will be “On the Road with Jesus:  Birth and Ministry” with Ben Witherington.

Christmas Tree Decorating at Kilbride is on the evening of Thursday November 23. Help is appreciated.

Sunday November 26 worship at Kilbride. ‘Hanging of the Greens’.

The Wesley Christmas Store, running from December 13-22,  is a much-anticipated annual program running in Hamilton for more than 30 years for those living below the low-income cut-off in our community. The premise is simple: instead of using money, people who access our Christmas store pay with points, based on the number of people in their families.Last year, this program was accessed by more than 2,500 people in Hamilton.Wesley’s Christmas Store is special because it allows people to choose their own gifts, and our system accommodates all family compositions, including single adults. Kilbride can help by donating gifts and non perishable food items. Kilbride and Carlisle will be going to help at the Christmas Store (date to be determined) and will take your gifts to store.

Share the Spirit event at Kilbride on Saturday December 9 from 8:00am to noon. Pancake Breakfast and Bake Sale. We  are looking for your donations of baking (packaged and price) and gifts/non-perishable food items for the Wesley Christmas Store. Help at the breakfast and bake table is appreciated.

Advent Services are December 3, 10 and 17 in Kilbride. Advent 4 service on December 24 will be a joint service in Carlisle at 10:00am. December 31 service will be a joint service in Kilbride at 10:00am.

There will be a brief board meeting on Sunday December 17 at 9:15am to approve the 2018 budget. Budget details will be sent to board members in advance of the meeting.

Farewell lunch for Rev. Lorna will held in Carlisle after their service on Sunday January 7.

Fiddling Around Canada for 150 Years by the Puslinch Fiddle Orchestra on Saturday November 25, 2:00pm at St Paul’s United Church in Milton. Featuring music by Don Messer, Ned Landry, Al Cherney, Stompin’ Tom and the Hockey Song, and more. There’ll be door prizes and a reception to follow. Adults $20, Students $10, 6 and under are free. On the Way to Bethlehem, Friday December 1 to Sunday December 3, 6:30-8:30pm at Country Heritage Park, telling the Christmas story in an outdoor, living pageant. The Christmas Card on Friday December 1, 7:30pm at Lowville United Church. Presenting a dramatic reading of Stuart McLean’s The Christmas Card from ‘The Unreleased Stories’ of the Vinyl Café. Performed by Chris Reid, actor with the Burlington Performing Arts Tottering Biped Theatre. Enjoy some good ol’ rock and roll live music by Lakeshore 6. Hor d’oevres and hot apple cider to follow.
