Dear Sisters & Brothers,
Week 4 — seems like an eternity! And if you are like me, there have been moments of extreme gratitude coupled with moments of extreme sadness… moments of great fear, along with moments of “we’ve got this!”… moments of great heaviness along with moments of deep joy and Light! I pray in this endless roller-coaster of emotions, feelings, fear, joy, anger, sadness, hope and everything in between you are experiencing the blessings of an Awesome God who cares for you deeply… and is with you on this COVID ride!
As we enter Easter weekend — it is different this year — REALLY different! For families who normally gather for meals and Easter egg hunts… there is loss. For folks who rely on the familiarity of faith community gatherings… walking the Way of Jesus to the Upper Room, garden, Pilate’s Hall, the Way of Sorrows, Calvary, the tomb… there is loss. For all who find the tender touch of handwashing another… the sharing of bread and cup… the music of the season both rich and life-giving… there is loss.
Please know you are NOT alone.
Know you ARE held in the prayers of many.
Know your losses ARE real… the pain IS real… the emptiness IS real…
and so is the stone that is rolled away… the tomb that no longer contains death…
the life that bursts forth for all…
Praying you experience resurrection in new ways… different ways… blessed ways…
this Eastertime and in the coming days!
Praise be to God! Hallelujah!

A Prayer for your journey…
We ask you to be with us.
We pray for those who are ill, and for those we cannot be with
as closely as we wish.
When we are afraid, help us to remember and be grateful for:
Water, which gives life.
The land, which sustains us and restores us to health.
The wisdom of Elders, who guide us.
Our young people, who deserve a bright future.
Our strength and resilience, which will bring us to a new day.
Help our leaders respond appropriately to the specific needs
of Indigenous communities.
Help us to walk compassionately with all who are ill or afraid.
Help us to understand that we are all relatives.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
